In response, it suggests five steps to building a sustainable leadership pipeline in Asia:

  1. Localise first
  2. Plan international career moves early
  3. Maximise use of temporary cross-border job moves
  4. Over-invest in training tailored to regional needs
  5. Make personal time for mentoring key talent
