About This Research Project:
By interviewing senior business leaders based in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, this study suggests five practices that emerging leaders can adopt in their own leadership journey:
- Make long-term career plans, but remain open to possibilities
- Go global, early
- Early cross-functional experiences and risks pay off – take them
- Develop a professional network with depth
- No need to “save face”
The study includes suggestions that can help companies in Southeast Asia support these practices, and empower emerging leaders to develop their businesses and themselves to their full potential.
